Innovative credit for SME
Small and Medium Enterprises are important sources of innovation and job creation and are therefore necessary elements in any model of sustainability in a changing world. However, SMEs have great difficulties in attracting credit. SMEs in poor communities face yet another problem: purchasing power rapidly leaves the community before it can facilitate trade between local enterprises. STRO's Commercial Credit Circuit (C3) creates additional credit for these companies and encourage more purchasing demand to circulate in the local markets.
CompRaS, CoopeVictoria, Redes, Punto Transactiones, are a few examples of projects that demonstrate what can be done to improve credit and attract new members into the system or circuit.
Social TRade Organisations cooperate with (micro) Financial Institutions such as CompRaS that facilitated the extending of credits from the "Agencia do credito" and the cooperative bank Sicredi.
C3 Uruguay provides an example during the time of a world economic crisis of an extensive program that offers rural producers credit against improved economic conditions in the future.
